3. Do I need a platform for my Freedom Camper in a truck bed?
For the 48×79, 58×79, and 58×89 models, a raised platform is required to elevate the camper above your truck’s wheel wells. This ensures proper fitment and creates valuable storage space underneath — what we like to call the garage.
Multiple aftermarket drawer systems are compatible with the Freedom Camper, including our own in-house PLAT system.
4. Is the camper suitable for all-season use?
Yes. It’s designed with premium insulation to keep occupants warm and dry in various weather conditions — from the middle of winter to the peak of summer.
5. How many people are required to load and unload the camper?
Due to its ultralight build (180–190 pounds), it requires only two people to load, unload, and store.
6. Is the Freedom Camper customizable?
The Freedom Camper is intentionally designed as a minimalist basecamp, ready for you to outfit however you like. Whether you want to mount awnings, solar panels, roof racks, or ventilation fans, the Freedom Camper makes it easy.
On the roof, you’ll find two raised composite wood areas — ideal mounting points for racks, awnings, or solar equipment. You can also add a ducted window flange for heating compatibility.
7. Do you need the truck mounting kit?
The Truck Mounting Kit is required if using a truck bed to carry your Freedom Camper. It is optional if using with a trailer.
The kit uses four turnbuckles to quickly and securely attach your camper to the outside rails on your truck bed. Includes: ×8 side mount plates, ×4 D-rings, ×12 hardware, ×4 turnbuckles, and an instruction manual.
